ANYthing and EVERYthing!

ANYthing and EVERYthing!

Heyyyyy ladies! (And Maybe Gents)

I’m greeting you again  today from the beautiful and HOT  Tampa, Florida.  How’s the weather where you are?  I hope it’s pretty!

I hopped on to tell you about  a scripture I’ve been pondering for a while, realizing repeatedly that it applies to every area of my life.  Over the past few weeks I’ve thought about writing about it because I know if it applies to me, it will apply to you.

The thought crossed my mind again this morning and then lo and behold, I opened up Instagram and there it was, staring right back at me!  So, I took that as confirmation that today was indeed the day!  This scripture has become one of my favorites for sure.  Philippians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything.”  Yep, I’d say that ‘anything’ and ‘everything’ covers it all!  And there’s more!  This command comes with a  PROMISE!!!

{verse 7: “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”} Ummmm, if not worrying about anything and praying about everything promises that the peace of God will GUARD my heart and mind….yeah, I’m in!

I think that sometimes when we think of prayer, we focus on what to pray for.  We think of lists.  Big things like sickness, spiritual attacks, financial breakthroughs, etc.  Don’t get me wrong, absolutely pray about those things, I’m just trying to get you to think outside the box today.  Remember, we are talking, EVERYTHING.

I’ll give you a few examples from my life to get your creative thoughts flowing.  For one example, I prayed this morning that God would breathe on my writing.  That he would prepare the hearts of those that will read it and that the seed of scripture will plant life inside your hearts and minds.  I know that he did.

For another example and since I know that vulnerability creates community, I will share something a little more personal.  A few weeks ago I was struggling with  extreme fatigue, to the point that I couldn’t find motivation for hardly anything.  I’ll admit, it made me grumpy-real grumpy, so as you can imagine it was affecting my relationship with my husband.  There were times that I felt sorry for him because I would snap at him and he didn’t have a clue what he did.

So I prayed.  That God would not only break the fatigue off me but that he would give me the strength to push through WHILE being a good wife whether I felt like it or not.  One thing I’ve noticed, is that when I pray, I immediately feel a sense of hope, knowing that since I was humble and obedient by praying, that God would be faithful in listening to my prayer and replacing my problem with peace.  He always does! {The scriptures don’t lie}

What’s interesting is that 9 times out of 10, the answer that I get targets something inside of me.  In this case, God decided to present  me with a challenge.  His suggestion…sex.  Yes, sex!  While I was tired and grumpy,  and he knew that was the last thing I wanted to do at the time.  But…I had prayed, so I knew  that whatever he wanted me to do had a  purpose and that it would change something.  So, I took a deep breath, got up and brushed my teeth, tamed my frizzy ponytail and tapped my hubby on the shoulder.

Needless to say, he was pleasantly surprised.  As we walked to our bedroom, I whispered another prayer.  “Lord, I’m tired but I’m doing what you want me to.  In return, will you use these moments to make our bond stronger?  You created sex, so let whatever you created it for be done in us.”  He did it!  The fatigue didn’t instantly get better but as for me and my hubby, we were refreshed and that helped to carry us through.

A prayer, even a  simple prayer like that, shows God that we trust him.  And when we trust and obey, you can mark it down-a breakthrough is on it’s way!  Even in tiny moments like these, pray!  God will always answer and since he knows everything from beginning to end, you can trust him 😉

Think about it this way, when we pray about everything, we are inviting the Creator of the world into every challenging moment we face.  I don’t know about you, but I can use all the breath of heaven I can get!!  (Ask my almost 17 year old son…poor Brady! LOL)

Whether it be for patience, for guidance, to find what you’re shopping for, whatever your area of need…PRAY!  The Bible tells us to, so let’s take God up on it and watch him work on our behalf!  Let’s practice a consistent posture of prayer.  Next time you see Philippians 4:6, read it this way.  “Don’t worry about anything, instead, talk to God about everything”  He is waiting to hear from you and already has an answer prepared.

Now, I’d like to take this opportunity to ask if there’s anything I can agree with you in prayer for?  I consider it an honor to pray for the needs of others, so please, don’t hesitate to ask!

On a side note, I’d like to give a shout out to the Instagram page that I referenced above.  Thanks to her obedience, this post was created today!  Thank you Everlastingcrownco !
